Dr. Strangelove

… seemed like an alternate history movie, both absurd and a little suspenseful at the same time. A lot of the dialogue was improv, especially on the part of Peter Sellers, who plays Captain Lionel Mandrake, President Merkin Muffley, and Dr. Strangelove himself. It’s kind of hard to get in to at first, but once you get past the first boring minutes it gets better. It isn’t something I would recommend for casual viewing, though, unless you’re into really quirky old flicks.

A Clockwork Orange

… is such a good movie that I never want to see it again. The main character, Alex DeLarge, is a violent teenager in a chaotic future. Malcolm McDowell as Alex did an excellent job; he was cool and chilling, smooth and brutal, revolting and sexy, cunning and deviant, and evil and innocent, all at the same time. The overall effect of this movie is something that I have never experienced before, especially not from a film. … [B]ased on a novel by Anthony Burgess by the same name.
